And This Is Rationing “Care”

In the private sector, a service is something that is meant to be maximized; made better.  This in an effort to lure more and more people into purchasing you r product – your service.

When the government is doing a service it take monopoly share of the market.  It’s illegal for FedEx and UPS to deliver packages to a mailbox [ a mailbox that I purchase by the way ].  The government licenses cars.  Issues driver’s license.  The government educates our kids.  All of it, they mandate .

But the service they provide turns from something that is meant to be grown and made better to something that is meant to be minimized and made cheaper.

Watch

In one Wisconsin town, gas stations are having problems with people pumping gas and then driving off without paying for it.  They’re stealing the gas.  And when people steal something, the thing to ddo is call the police, right?

Wrong:

APPLETON, Wis. – Appleton police have told local gas-station owners they will no longer respond to reports of customers who drive off without paying.

Now, why would a service provider stop providing services?

Police say their resources are too limited to respond to such calls. Police Lt. Kelly Gady says gas-station owners are now responsible for collecting their own debts from drivers who pump but don’t pay.

Imagine if FedEx no longer accepted packages going to States that began with “N”.   You would take your business to UPS.  But if the police don’t accept calls for gasoline theft, who are you supposed to call?  The police say to collect yourself.  But YOU don’t have the force of law on your side.

This is the beginning.  Governments are going to HAVE to find a way to cut costs.  That, or they’ll simply cease to exist.

  1. I saw a similar article in one of my local newspapers a while back. What a stupid thing to print – to tell every criminal that the chances of the cops coming after you are not likely, if any at all. Have they done a follow-up to see what the net result was? Maybe we’re fortunate that most criminals are too stupid to read the newspaper.

I know this is off your point, but I felt that the stupidity of those kind of articles shouldn’t go unpunished.

Re: our “services” – you’re absolutely right. I think those who are so bent and short-sighted on taxing the rich to provide for these services are going to be sorely disappointed when they find out that those services aren’t actually going to be there.

I didn’t even think of that! Great point.

Yup. Eventually you run out of other people’s money.
