    I looked at the survey.
Question S3. How likely are you to vote in the 2012 Presidential Election?
    96% very likely
    4% some what likely

That tells me that something is flawed in the way that the survey was conducted. The only way that I could get figures that high would be to ask the question while people were already standing in line to vote.

Well, often times polls are conducted and the population is listed as “Likely Voters”. They ‘prolly have some way of identifying such a demographic.

Eh, we all knew that the crazification factor is 27%, so this isn’t surprising. But seriously, do you trust ANY of those news sources? They’re all profoundly lazy, and some (like, well, Fox News) have a direct partisan bent.

But did you look through the whole poll to see the favorable/unfavorables?

    Obama: +9
    Clinton: +26
    Biden: +3
    Reid: -22

Huckabee: +11 (but he’s not running now)
    Romney: +7 (but 23% undecided)
    Pawlenty: +2
    Daniels: -4
    Boehner: -4
    Santorum: -6
    Bachmann: -8
    Paul: -10
    Gingrich: -21
    Palin: -27
    Trump: -52

So, I think there’s lots to cheer about as a leftist, though a lot about this poll seems off.

Like the stuff you agree with?

      🙂

I think a lot of the stuff I agree with seems off in that poll, too. The numbers just seem off.

And yeah, the stuff I agree with is what “leftists” would cheer about. I’m just saying that your “leftists the world over are going to lament this” seems a little silly when there’s all this other stuff in the poll. I don’t care if every voter in the country watches and believes Fox News, if they also give obama a +10 favorability rating.

The whole point of the post is that FoxNews is the most trusted name in news. By 50%. It ain’t even close.

The Left lambasts Fox for being agenda driven and biased and all the rest. And to a point, I agree, it is. It’s very clear that Fox has a conservative bias. However, it’s also true that the other media listed have their own bias and, where those biases exist, they are MORE bias than Fox is.

Where’s PBS? They’ve scored at the top of ‘most trusted tv news’ surveys for years. Also pino, it doesn’t seem valid to compare 24 hour cable news programming with networks for whom news is just an ‘add on’. I mean you can do it, but the results are going to be skewed.

I suspect they are considered “others”.

You are right. But there are advantages and disadvantages. For example, Fox and CNN have the advantage of spending a ton of money on their programming. The disadvantage is that they employ opinon guys as well. Hannity, Maddow, Beck and Olbermann. Those guys make the network like a caricature.

Leaving out the ‘leader’ in a rating I think discredits the whole poll.

re personalities I think you meant MSNBC and FOX re personalities etc. Unless you consider Spitzer (liberal but not all his shows are about politics – plus I think CNN considers him just a ‘place holder’. He’s no O”Reilly) and Piers Morgan to be the equivalent of Maddow and Hannity?

But when it comes down to it my friend, when we look at the cable nets and the old nets except for PBS, what they;re guilty of is doing a terrible job – except for a few bright spots and except for video rich disaster coverage (hurricanes, tornadoes) they really do a poor job of covering actual news.
